AACHEN, Germany, Nov. 28, 2016–An annual youth dressage indoor show will be launched at Aachen in November, 2017 to join the long established youngster jumper competition as a “Winter Horse Festival.”

The organizers of the summer World Equestrian Festival CHIO announced Monday creation of the dressage show with the first event to be staged Nov. 24-26, 2017, a week before the jumping competition. Jumping has been on the winter calendar at Aachen for more than a quarter century.

“We are consistently continuing our commitment to talented young riders in the scope of the Aachen Dressage Youngsters,” said Frank Kemperman, chairman of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV).

In addition to Under-25 dressage and jumping competitions at the CHIO, the ALRV is organizing the German Youth Championships next September.
