Several leading prospects for the U.S. Olympic “short” list of up to eight riders and horses to go Europe to compete for selection of the team for Paris will line up at TerraNova on Florida’s west coast this coming weekend in the last qualifying event that will be mostly a freestyle festival.

Most of the Florida prospects still seeking to fulfill qualifications are entered in the CDI3* Grand Prix at TerraNova in Myakka City near Sarasota Friday. The Grand Prix Special and the Freestyle are scheduled for Saturday.

Top ranked Steffen Peters aiming Suppenkasper for the horse’s second Olympics and sixth for the rider and Anna Buffini on Fiontini ranked fifth are skipping the final California qualifier being staged at Temecula this same weekend as both have fulfilled requirements. Steffen , at the ge of 59 is the oldest prospect while Anna at 29 is the youngest of those with a realistic hope of making the European squad.

Adrienne Lyle on Helix, currently ranked second, will compete in the TerraNova freestyle while on Lars van de Hoenderheide, ranked third, Adrienne is entered in the Special.

Endel Ots on Zen Elite’s Bohemian stands in fourth place and will also perform in the freestyle.

Both of Adrienne’s mounts and Bohemian are owned by Heidi Humphries’ Zen Elite Equestrian Center of Ft. Lauderdale,  Florida

The scores for the freestyle do not count toward qualifying for the European short list but is a required competition.

Katherine Bateson-Chandler on Haute Couture, Kasey Perry-Glass on Heartbeat W.P. and Ashley Holzer on Hansel are entered in the freestyle.

Marcus Orlob on Jane has completed the required competitions but wants to improve his standing and along with Sarah Tubman on First Apple will compete in the Special.

Anna Marek on Fire Fly, her 2023 Pan American Games gold medal mount, and on Fayvel that she competed at the World Cup Final along with Kevin Kohmann on Dünensee have completed qualification as has 2012 Olympic rider Jan Ebeling on Jubi’s Tenacity and are not competing at TerraNova.
