Selection procedures have begun for the USA team for the inaugural Pan American Dressage Championship at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida at the end of January.
Teams for the championships Jan. 21-31 will comprise both Big and Small Tour combinations.
Deadline for applications available through the USEF Athlete Dashboard. is Dec. 1 at 11:59 p.m. US Eastern Time.
USA will select a squad of at least four rider and horse combinations for the championship based on results of qualifying competitions with details here.
“For the USA Dressage Program,” the USEF said, “this serves as an opportunity to showcase Small Tour combinations or up-and-coming Grand Prix combinations in a team environment.”
The championships are organized by the Pan American Equestrian Confederation of 30 nations throughout the Americas that are planned to become additional to the Pan American Games so there will be continental championships the year before both future World Championships and the Olympics.
