Several American horses scheduled to be among 10 combinations competing in the Hagen, Germany Nations Cup and other international classes in three weeks are in Europe with another group traveling next week.
Horses for the Dutta Corp. CDIO4* Nations Cup include Toronto Lightfoot ridden by Meagan Davis of Loxahatchee, Florida, Gold Play with Jordan LaPlaca of Ledyard, Connecticut and Fayvel with Anna Marek of Dunellen, Florida.
Fleau de Baian competed by Christian Simonson based in Wellington, Florida and the fourth member of the team will leave next week with his coach Adrienne Lyle and other students and horses.
Other horses entered in CDIs in Hagen include Heartbeat W.P. competed by Kasey Perry-Glass of Wellington and Gino ridden by Geñay Vaughn of Elk Grove, California.
In addition to Fleau de Baian, horses scheduled to travel to Europe next week include Gremlin 41 ridden by Quinn Iverson and Rosebank VH competed at Small Tour by Katie Duerrhammer, both also coached by Adrienne who is taking her 2024 Olympic mount Helix.
Ellesse Gundersen and Quintessential 4 who won the 2026 U.S. Grand Prix Championship will also compete at Hagen but like Adrienne and Helix did not make the commitment required to become a contender for the U.S. team at the World Championships in Aachen, Germany in mid-August.
Ellesse told DRESSAGE-NEWS.com, however, that the U.S. federation confirmed award of a grant to help offset some of the costs of competing in Europe.
Ashley Holzer, an Olympian for Canada but for the past several years has competed for the U.S., is scheduled to compete in England at the end of June.
The lineup of teams entered in Hagen has not yet been confirmed but Germany has announced its squad of 2024 Olympic gold medalists Isabell Werth on Wendy de Fontaine and Frederic Wandres on Blueooth OLD along with Charlott-Maria Schürmann on Dante’s Pearl OLD and Semmieke Rothenberger on Farrington.
