Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu who was to be the first Canadian dressage rider at the World Cup Final in 13 years, has pulled out after Jaccardo became cast just ahead of the annual championship.

“I can’t believe it,” said Brittany of the timing of the cast of Jaccardo, the 12-year-old KWPN gelding on which she qualified for the World Cup being held in Fort Worth, Texas for the first time.

“Timing is just unbelievable,” Brittany responded to DRESSAGE-NEWS.com.

Both dressage and jumper horses that were in Florida for the winter circuits and qualified for the World Cup were to travel via road to Fort Worth to arrive Sunday.

Jaccardo, owned by Jill Irving, was ridden by Brittany to a score of 79.250% in the duo’s last Freestyle at Wellington’s Global Dressage Festival in February.

Brittany is the top ranked Canadian dressage rider, at No. 24 in the world, behind only Christian Simonson of the United States in North America. Christian on Indian Rock led the World Cup standings for North America. On All In, she competed for Canada at the Tokyo Olympics, the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon and the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto where the home team earned silver.

The last Canadians to compete in dressage at the World Cup Final were Jacqueline Brooks on D Niro and James Irwin on Lindor’s Finest in 2013.
