Frederic Wandres, 2024 Olympic and 2026 World Championship gold medalist, and Lars Ligus are leaving Hof Kasselmann in Hagen, Germany to set up their own training and sales operation.
The two riders, who have competed at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida the past fiver years, will base their new business at Gut Einhaus in Herzlake beginning in 2027.
“Hof Kasselmann has been my sporting home for many years,” Frederic said. “I am extremely grateful to the Kasselmann family for their trust, the exceptional horses and all the opportunities that have come with them. Ulli and Bianca have accompanied me throughout my career and played a defining role in my development. Taking the step into independence now feels like the natural progression.”
Bluetooth OLD, Frederic’s mount on the German gold medal teams at the Paris Games and Aachen championships and Veuve Clicquot FRH will accompany the two to Herzlake.
Frederic, ranked 10th in the world, was on three of the four straight Nations Cup victories by Germany at Wellington, while Lars was on the winning 2025 team. Frederic is ranked second in the US federation Open series with the final scheduled for Thermal, California in November.
