MARIAKALNOK, Hungary, May 17, 2025–Sandra Sysojeva on the big moving Maxima Bella was the clear winner Saturday of the World Cup that debuted qualifiers in Europe and the Americas for the Final in Fort Worth, Texas next April.
Sandra and the nine-year-old Oldenburg mare scored 77.610% in their campaign for a second World Cup Final. The first for the Polish rider and her Paris Olympic mount was just six weeks ago in Switzerland.
Austria’s Bettina Kendelbacher on the 12-year-old Austrian Warmblood gelding Broadmoars Don Alfredo AWO that has been a partnership since the gelding’s youth was runner-up on 72.240%.
Fie Christine Skarsoe of Luxembourg on the 12-year-old Lusitano stallion Imperador dos Cedros was close behind on 72.210%.
This qualifier was in Central Europe but, as is common, riders from other regions such as Western Europe can earn points in their own leagues.
Eleven more qualifiers are currently scheduled in Central Europe through to November for two of the 18 places in the Final. The next events are in Olomouc, Czech Republic and Pärnu, Estonia both scheduled for next week.
The first of 11 qualifiers in North America for three spots in the championship Final begins in Devon, Pennsylvania Sept. 23-28; both Canada and Mexico will each stage qualifiers while six will be in Florida and two in California.
Western Europe which is allocated nine starts in Fort Worth, begins its lineup of 11 qualifiers in Herning, Denmark Oct. 15-19.
The Pacific region selects its one place at a league final set for Werribee, Australia Dec. 11-14.
Charlotte “Lottie” Fry of Britain on Glamourdale as the titleholder from Basel, Switzerland last month needs only to compete in a couple of events to earn a start next year. Plus a combination not in the official geographic leagues and an additional starting place will be selected for the Final for a total of 18 starting combinations.
