Benjamin Ebeling on Bellena has been added to the World Cup Final starting lineup for the third United States rider in the championship staged in Fort Worth, Texas next week.
The 26-year-old rider who competed in the 2024 Final competed for a start but did not qualify.
He was named with the 16-year-old Bellena as an extra starting place after Britain’a Charlotte Dujardin withdrew.
He joins Christian Simonson on Indian Rock and Kevin Kohmann on Dünensee as fellow U.S. riders at the Final. All three riders are based in Wellington, Florida.
Canada’s Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu also earned a start on Jaccardo to become one of three North Americans among the lineup of up to 18 riders selected for the Final based on the Freestyle. She is also the first Canadian to go to the Final since 2013. Brittany ranked 24th in the world as of the end of March.
Christian and Indian Rock, ranked 12th in the world in the latest standings, is going to his first senior championship. Ben and Bellena are ranked 32nd. Kevin, standing in 36th, will be riding Dünensee in their third straight Final.
Julio Mendoza Loor, who rides for his native Ecuador but is based in Columbus, North Carolina will compete Jewel’s Goldstrike in the first World Cup Final for the rider. The duo were the first from Ecuador in Olympic dressage, which they achieved in Paris in 2024.
World Cup dressage and jumper horses from Europe arrive in Fort Worth Friday and U.S.-based horses on Saturday.
