GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Feb. 22, 2095–Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour rode Mount St. John Freestyle to a career high score of 91.140% to win the World Cup musical performance a day after capturing the Grand Prix.
Cathrine and the 16-year-old Hanoverian that led Denmark to team silver at the Paris Olympics, scored 91.140% for the victory. The score gave her a total of 40 points in the Western European League with only one more qualifier, in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands Mar. 13-16, for the World Cup Final in Basel, Switzerland the first week of April.
Cathrine has not indicated whether she will compete at the Final.
It was the pair’s second result above 90%–the other was in Stockholm last December. The score Saturday was the highest since the horse owned by Mount St. John Equestrian and Cathrine began Big Tour competition with Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin in early 2018 and included performances at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon later that year.
Sweden’s Maria von Essen on the 13-year-old gelding Invoice was runner-up on 82,495%.
Corentin Pottier of France on Gotilas du Feuillard, a 14-year-old offspring of Totilas, placed third on 81.470%.
