FONTAINEBLEAU, France, April 27, 2024–Emmelie Scholtens of the Netherlands on Indian Rock, who skipped the World Cup Final earlier this month, was the unanimous winner of the CDI5* Grand Prix Saturday beating Great Britain’s Charlotte “Lottie” Fry on Everdale who tied for secomd.
Emmelie and the 11-year-old KWPN stallion that have been partners since the World Young Horse Championships in 2018n were awarded 75.478% for the win. The pair rode on the Dutch team at the 2023 European Championships and the World Championships in 2022. The duo qualified for the World Cup Final two weeks ago but opted not to go to Saudi Arabia.
Lottie Fry on Everdale, the 15-year-old KWPN stallion that was her Tokyo Olympic bronze medal team mount and team silver at the 2021 European Championships was runner-up Saturday on 73.543%. Two judges placed her second and three putting her in third. Lottie andEverdale were the center of a judging controversy during the qualifying for the World Cup Final where the pair placed first in the Grand Prix but were eliminated before entering the arena for the freestyle with blood in the horse’s mouth.
France’s Pauline Basquin on Sertorius de Rima Z, a 14-year-old Zangersheide gelding, tied with Everdale for second on 73.543% with three judges placing the pair second and two in third.
