NEUMÜNSTER, Germany, Feb. 18, 2024–Emmelie Scholtens and Indian Rock won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday for a double victory and to move the Dutch partnership into contention for an invitation to the Final in Saudi Arabia in two months.

Emmelie and the 11-year-old KWPN stallion scored 81.565% for the win in the musical performance and boosted the rider’s standing in the Western European League to 39 points with two more qualifiers to go.

Sweden’s Patrik Kittel on Forever Young HRH, 12-year-old Westfalen mare, was runner-up on 81.145% and remains atop the Western European standings. He is certain to be invited to the Riyadh Final that would be his ninth in the annual championship based on the Freestyle

Matthias Alexander Rath of Germany on the 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion Destacado FRH was third on 80.425% and likely to be offered a start in what would be his second Final.

The next qualifier is in Gothenburg, Sweden later this week.
