MADRID, Nov. 24, 2023–Matthias Alexander Rath rode Destacado FRH to victory in the World Cup Grand Prix Friday for the fifth straight win for the German partnership.
Matthias and the 10-year-old Hanoverian stallion scored 73.196% in the duo’s second qualifier for the World Cup Final to be held in Saudi Arabia next April.
France’s Morgan Barbançon and her 17-year-old Sir Donnerhall II OLD were runner-up on 73.000%.
José Daniel Martín Dockx of Spain on the 13-year-old PRE stallion Malagueno LXXXIII placed third on 72.522%.
The Freestyle to decide points is scheduled for Saturday.
