PILISJÁSZFALU, Hungary, June 10, 2023–Sergio Garcia Bermejo of Spain posted a personal best score on Hexagon’s Innuendo to win the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday.

The victory by Sergio and the 10-year-old KWPN gelding on a score of 74.005% was the first at Big Tour and a year out of Under-25 division.

Estonia’s Grete Ayache on Farao Da Raia, 13-year-old Lusitano gelding, was runner-up on 72.990%. The placing moves Grete to the top of the Central European World Cup standings, ahead of Justina Vanagaite of Lithuania and Alisa Glinka of Moldova. Central Europe gets to send two rider and horse combinations to the Final.

Israel’s Nicola Louise Ahorner on Foco Loco W, 18-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding that Yvonne Losos de Muñiz of the Dominican Republic competed at the 2016 Olympics and 2018 World Cup Final, was third on 70.510%.

The next event in Central Europe is Samorin, Slovakia next week and marks the start of the second half of the circuit leading to the Final in Saudi Arabia next April.
