OCALA, Florida, May 25, 2023–Julio Mendoza Loor and Jewel’s Goldstrike produced another personal best score Thursday to win the World Equestrian Center CDI3* Grand Prix.
Julio, riding for Ecuador but living in Columbus, North Carolina, and the 12-year-old KWPN gelding scored 74.413% for the seventh straight win this year.
Kevin Kohmann of Wellington, Florida on Dünensee, 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding, was runner-up on 68.152%.
Katherine Bateson Chandler also of Wellington on Alcazar, her frequent USA team horse beginning a ninth year at Big Tour at the age of 18, was third on 67.218%.
