HERNING, Denmark, Mar. 12, 2022–Cathrine Dufour and Bohemian broke into the exclusive 90% club with victory in the CDI5* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday, only the ninth rider and horse combination to achieve the score.
The Danish Olympic and championship star and the 12-year-old Westfalen gelding scored 90.005% to capture the Danish Warmblood Stallion show Freestyle.
The 30-year-old Cathrine on her world No. 3 mount joins the 90% club with Edward Gal on Totilas, Helen Langehanenberg on Damon Hill NRW, Charlotte Dujardin on Valegro, Isabell Werth on Bella Rose and Weihegold OLD, Sönke Rothenberger on Cosmo, Dorothee Schneider on Showtime FRH and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl on TSF Dalera BB.
The previous best musical performance result for the partnership was 88.436% at the European Championships last September.
Carina Cassøe Krüth and Heiline’s Danciera, Olympic team mates of Cathrine and Bohemian, were awarded a personal best 86.995% for second place. Their previous high score was 86.395% posted last October.
In only their second Big Tour Freestyle, Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Marshall-Bell, 10-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, scored 83.795% for third. The result beat the debut score by Daniel and the 10-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding of 82.050% posted at the European Championships last September.
Nanna Skodborg Merrald in only the second CDI on Blue Hors Zatchmo, 13-year-old Oldenburg stallion, posted a personal best 75.826%. The first Big Tour for the partnership was last month when they scored 75.456%. Zatchmo was previously competed by Agnete Kirk Thinggaard.
