ORNAGO, Italy, May 8, 2021–Australia’s Simone Pearce on Destano won the CDI4* Grand Prix Special Saturday a day after victory in the Grand Prix.
The Germany-based Simone and the 14-year-old Hanoverian stallion were awarded 74.277% for the win that was the rider’s third at this event. In addition to winning the Grand Prix on a score of 72.348%, the 29-year-old rider on Amandori captured the Grand Prix for the Freestyle on Friday.
Austria’s Christian Schumach on the Totilas son, Te Quiero SF, a 10-year-old Holsteiner gelding placed second on 74.085% in the Special Saturday. The pair had tied the score of Simone and Destano in the Grand Prix but the Aussie was declared the winner under FEI tie-break rules.
Fellow Austrian Florian Bacher on Fidertraum was third on 71.894% in the Special.
