The 2021 Dressage4Kids Christian Kennedy Young Adult scholarship has been awarded to Alicia Aiyawar.

Alicia, 24 years old of Chester, New Hampshire, will train with Oded Shimoni at OS Dressage in Wellington, Florida. Oded donated the lessons.

The scholarship, announced by D4K and Anne Baber Wallis, is awarded in memory of Christian Kennedy to promote, train, and inspire young riders through a special winter training grant.

Christian Kennedy was killed at the age of 21 in a car accident in Wellington, Florida in late 2017. He had moved to Wellington to pursue a career in dressage.

Alicia is a Dressage4Kids TEAM member and alumna of the D4K Winter Intensive Training Program. She is completing her bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of New Hampshire. She has been riding for 13 years and has started several young horses under saddle, including her own Libretto that she has owned since the gelding was six months old. Now six years old, Alicia will take him to Florida for the scholarship.

Alicia describes her long-term goals as being “able to produce many correctly trained dressage horses and to educate my students in the most effective and correct way. I have a strong passion for dressage and I aim to live and breathe it.”
