AACHEN, Germany, Sept. 2, 2020–Stefanie Peters, a business entrepreneur and a former international dressage rider, has become president of Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V., the first female in the position in the organization’s 122-year history.
The vote for Stephanie, aged 47, was unanimous by the 144 members at the ALRV general meeting held in Aachen’s Deutsche Bank Stadium where dressage is staged during the annual CHIO that is regarded as the world’s premier equestrian event of dressage, jumping, eventing, driving and vaulting. It was canceled this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Stefanie, managing partner of the Neumann & Esser Group, has been a volunteer at the CHIO for more than 30 years, including as dressage discipline manager and on the advisory board since 2008. She competed twice at Aachen.
She succeeds Carl Meulenbergh, who becomes honorary president.
