FRANKFURT, Germany, Dec. 15, 2018– Kristina Bröring-Sprehe and Desperados FRH returned to winning ways Saturday with a victory in the CDI4* Grand Prix Special.
Kristina and the Hanoverian stallion that turns 18 in the first of 2019 scored 78.085 per cent in the first show in eight months for the two-time Olympic medal combination. The pair placed second in the Grand Prix Friday.
Kristina and Desperados, former world No. 1, were on the German team at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, as well as the 2014 World Equestrian Games and the 2013 and 2015 European Championships. The duo were off the competition circuit for all of 2017, returned briefly at the start of this year then were out again until now with an injury to Desperados.
Team mate Jessica von Bredow-Werndl on Zaire-E was second Saturday on 77.447 per cent.
Daniel Bachmann-Andersen and Blue Hors Zepter that created a buzz on winning the Grand Prix were third on 76.468 per cent with some bobbles.
