Great Britain’s Hayley Watson-Greaves on the British-bred Rubins Nite will start in the World Cup Final in Paris next week, a replacement for the injured Calanta that was withdrawn from the Paris championship by Mary Hanna of Australia.

Hayley will be competing Rubins Nite, 14-year-old gelding (Rubin Royal x Limbo), in the first international championship for the pair, but they have been on British Nations Cup teams.

The 34-year-old rider and Rubins Nite were ranked 13th in the World Cup Western European League and 40th in the world rankings at the end of February which was the date to determine entries for the final.

 

She joins fellow Briton Emile Faurie and Delatio and 16 other combinations in the annual championship in which Isabell Werth on Weihegold OLD will defend the title the German Olympic team gold medal pair won at Omaha last year.

The addition of Hayley and Rubins Nite means Western Europe will have 12 of the 18 combinations to start, Isabell and Weihegold of Germany as title holder. nine highest ranked pairs from that league, home town entry Ludovic Henry of France on After You and Hayley on Rubins Nite as a replacement for Australia’s Mary Hanna.
