NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia, June 10, 2017–Inessa Merkulova and Avans won the World Cup Grand Prix Saturday, the fourth of 10 events in the Central European League leading to the final in Paris in April 2018.
Inessa, best known for competing Mister X for Russia, and the 12-year-old Russian-bred stallion scored 71.080 per cent for the win.
Fellow Russians Stanislav Cherednichenko on Vosk placed second on 69.940 per cent and Evgenija Davydova on Doolittle third on 68.540 per cent.
The Freestyle to earn points toward qualifying for the final at which Central Europe is allocated two slots is scheduled for Sunday.
