OCALA, Florida, May 15, 2026–Helix that Adrienne Lyle rode on the United States team at the Paris Olympics returned to the international show ring for the first time since the World Cup Final a year ago to win the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday.
The score for the 14-year-old gelding Helix from the five international judges was 72.239%.
Canada’s Denielle Gallagher on Come Back de Massa, 14-year-old Lusitano gelding, was runner-up on 68.457%.
Beginning in 2024, Helix was competed by Adrienne in Florida and in Europe then selected for the U.S. team at the Paris Games that summer, the third Olympics for the rider.
A successful winter circuit in Wellington led to qualifying for the World Cup Final in Basel, Switzerland in April 2025.
“Any day you get to go down centerline on a wonderful horse that you love is a great day!,” Adrienne said. “Helix was super and we had a lot of fun together. I’m very proud of him.”
Along with competing Helix, Adrienne has also showed two prospective successors at national level earlier this month. They were:
My Vitality, a nine-year-old Dutch-bred stallion that Adrienne rode to win the Lövsta Future Challenge for developing Grand Prix horses at Wellington’s Global Dressage Festival at the end of March. The pair were awarded 77.794% on their second of two days at a national competition in Ocala earlier this month.
“My Vitality had a really lovely test and gave a great feeling… probably the best so far, I would say” she said. “He is feeling more balanced and relaxed and confident in the work every day.
“I am very excited about My Vitality and we are just taking the time for him to build his strength before moving up to Grand Prix. He is young and we don’t want to rush him.”
One Million that Adrienne rode to scores above 76% both days at 3rd level for the seven-year-old Dutch-bred stallion’s first competitions.
All the horses are owned by Heidi Humphries’ Zen Elite Equestrian Center as are two others Adrienne is developing.
Hussmans Topgun, the 10-year-old Totilas offspring, has been competed by Adrienne beginning at 3rd level in 2024 and at Small Tour for more than a year.
She may move Topgun to Int. II by the end of summer, she said, and “I am hoping to (be) aiming toward some Grand Prix next year at some point.”
