DEL MAR, California, April 18, 2027–Steffen Peters rode Blue Hors Zirrus to victory in the CDI3* Grand Prix Saturday in the second international event for the six-time Olympian since the 2024 Paris Games. Both were on Zirrus.
Steffen of San Diego was awarded 69.826% on the 14-year-old Oldenburg stallion owned by Christina Vinios of Five Rings Farm in Wellington, Florida in qualifying for the Special.
Jaclyn Pepper-Millard Limited Edition of Santa Rosa, California on the American-bred 10-year-old mare Limited Edition was runner-up on 68.109%. It was the pair’s third show since beginning international competition less than two months ago.
“Zirrus felt absolutely wonderful today and delivered a truly clean, confident test,” said Steffen. “The piaffes were expressive and well-balanced, the changes came through smoothly, and both pirouettes were executed with quality and control. It was a ride that reflected real harmony and progress, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with his performance.

The score for Steffen, a six-time Olympian, was the highest of two Grand Prix staged at Del Mar Saturday.
The qualifier for the Freestyle was won by Nadine Schwartsman of Eagle, Idaho on the 15-year-old gelding Royal Flash R with a score of 67.956%.
