The Dutta Corp. U.S. dressage team for the CDIO3* Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida Mar.18-21 was announced by US Equestrian Tuesday.
The four-member squad is a mix of veterans and senior team newcomers. It will be led by Christine Traurig, chef d’equipe, and Laura Roberts as team leader.
The team:
Meagan Davis of Loxahatchee, Florida on Toronto Lightfoot, 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Totilas x Onassis), owned by Scott Durkin;
Benjamin Ebeling of Wellington on Bellena, 16-year-old Hanoverian mare (Belissimo M x Welser), owned by Vantage Equestrian Group II, LLC;
Kevin Kohmann of Wellington and Dünensee, 17-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Dancier x Davignon I), owned by Diamante Farms, and
Jordan LaPlaca of Ledyard, Connecticut and Gold Play, his own 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Grey Flannell x Sir Donnerhall II OLD).
Meagan Davis and Jordan LaPlaca have not previously competed on senior U.S. teams while Ben Ebeling has competed on several teams in both Europe and the U.S. as well as a World Cup Final as has Kevin Kohmann, including representing his native Germany as well as the U.S.
The U.S. CDIO Under-25 team was announced as:
Alicia Berger of Wellington and Aqua Marin, her own 15-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Ampere x Stedinger);
Allison Nemeth of Flemington, New Jersey and Leviathan, her own 10-year-old KWPN gelding (Desperado x Apache), and
Sophia Schults of Ocala, Florida and Conocido HGF, her own 14-year-old PRE gelding (Cosaco XI x Idilio II)
George Willams will be chef d’equipe and Laura Roberts team leader.
