Canada’s Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu moves into the top 20 in the world for the first time in her career after success on Jaccardo and is No. 1 at both medium and small tour levels.
Christian Simonson and the 13-year-old stallion Indian Rock that are qualified for next month’s World Cup Final in Fort Worth, remain the top ranked North American rider and horse at ninth in the International Equestrian Federation standings at the end of February.
Brittany, who appears likely to be the first Canadian since 2013 in the World Cup championship, and Jaccardo, the 12-year-old Dutch-bred gelding owned by Jill Irving, are ranked 19th and 18th, respectively in the standings that are separate for riders and horses.
Brittany is also ranked No. in the world at both 1* and 2* levels.
In the 2* rankings for Intermediate II–one notch below Grand Prix–Brittany and Harmonium, the 14-year-old KWPN gelding she rides for Johanne Dubé, are atop the standings.
In the 1* rankings, she is on top as is the horse she rides, the 12-year-old Furst Foundation owned by Deer Ridge Equestrian.
Brittany on her now-retired Tokyo Olympic mount All In reached a high of 27th when riders and horses were ranked together, according to a review of records.
She first ranked with Jaccardo last November at 184 but climbed to 36th by year’s end to 21st in January and now 19th.
At the top of global rankings, Belgium’s Justin Verboomen stayed at No. 1, Isabell Werth of Germany No. 2 and Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour third.
