The Nations Cup in Hagen, Germany next July will “very likely” include an American team either as a development squad or riders on the short list for the World Championships in Aachen a month later.

Hagen’s selection as a Nations Cup was announced Wednesday by Hof Kasselmann whose Horses and Dreams Entertainment will organize the event July 1-5.

A Nations Cup was held in Hagen for the first time in 2015 when the European Championships were at Aachen.

Charlotte Jorst on Kastel’s Nintendo was the top scoring American.

Laura Roberts, US Federation Managing Director of Dressage, said it was still to be decided whether the competition will be for development athletes or the world championship short list, “but we will very likely have riders there.”

”Hof Kasselmann stands for sporting excellence, organizational expertise and genuine passion for equestrian sport,” said Managing Director Francois Kasselmann. “Our aim is to present the Nations Cup as an international dressage ‘come-together’ that excites athletes, teams and spectators alike.

“Alongside the regular competitions, a particular highlight will be the dedicated inclusion of Para Dressage. It is important to us to send a strong signal for inclusion, diversity and equal opportunity. Para athletes deserve to stand on the same stage–and we are delighted to welcome the world’s best Para Dressage riders to Hagen.”

The World Championships are scheduled for Aug. 11-23 August.

The trans-Atlantic Nations Cup series in 2026 begins at Wellington International Mar. 18-22, followed by Fontainebleau, France April 15-19; Lier, Belgium May 21-24; Rotterdam June 18-21; Hagen, Germany July 1-5, and Falsterbo July 8-12.
