Indian Rock passed veterinary inspection at Ocala’s World Equestrian Center Thursday, a day ahead of the first international competition with Christian Simonson of USA.
The 12-year-old Dutch-bred stallion (Apache x Vivaldi) will be competed by the 22-yearold Friday in the CDI3* Grand Prix and a day later in the Special.
Indian Rock was developed by the talented Emmelie Scholtens of the Netherlands.

At the World Championships in 2022, Emmelie and Indian Rock scored 74.410% in the Grand Prix as the Netherlands’ team of four combinations to place fifth out of 19 nations.

The duo’s highest Grand Prix score was 75.478% at Fontainebleau, France in 2024 while their top Grand Prix Special result was 75.957% at the European Championships at Riesenbeck, Germany in 2023.

The last competition for Indian Rock with Emmelie Scholtens was at the Olympics in Paris in 2024. The team placed fourth.
In spring of 2025, Zen Elite Equestrian Center owned by successful Florida entrepreneur Heidi Humphries bought Indian Rock to be ridden by Christian, who is coached by three-time U.S. Olympian Adrienne Lyle.
The first competition for Christian on Indian Rock was a national event in the covered arena at Wellington International’s Global Dressage Festival grounds.
