Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour of Denmark and Mount St. John Freestyle were atop the world rankings for riders and horses for a third month as of the end of April.

Cathrine and the Danish mare now 16 years old who led Denmark to silver at last year’s Paris Olympics took over the top spot in February. Cathrine began competing Freestyle at the end of 2023 following Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin who earned team and individual silver on the horse at the Tryon World Equestrian Games in 2018.

Charlotte “Lottie” Fry of Britain moved up one place to No. 2 in the world on her second ranked Glamourdale after capturing the World Cup in early April.

Isabell Werth dropped a place to No. 3 while Quantaz, her World Cup mount, dropped to fourth.

Becky Moody of Britain remained in fourth while her home-bred Jagerbomb moved up to third from fourth in March.

Sweden’s Patrik Kittel climbed to ninth on Forever Young HRH while shooting up to 14th from 113th place on Touchdown.

Germany’s Semmieke Rothenberger and her Farrington were boosted by success this year with the rider climbing to 24th from 133rd and the horse to 22nd from 145th a month earlier.

Adrienne Lyle remained the top American rider but slipped one spot to 19th while her Olympic and World Cup partner Helix owned by Zen Elite Equestrian dropped two spots to 18th.

Anna Marek slid one place to 27th while two-time World Cup rider Kevin Kohmann dropped two places to 30th.

At the CDI2* level, GARCIA MENA, Spain’s José Antonio Garcia Mena moved to No. 1 with Sylvia Gugler, the Germany-based American rider moving down a spot to No. 2 and Marcus Orlob of USA remaining 3rd.
