Adrienne Lyle’s victories on Helix in the CDI5* boosted the American Olympic rider to the top of the Global Dressage Festival dressage prize money earnings for the world’s leading winter equestrian circuit.
Adrienne, a three-time Olympian including last summer’s Paris Games on Helix, has earned a total of $36,900 on the 13-year-old gelding owned by Zen Elite Equestrian Center of Ft. Lauderdale, an hour south of Wellington. Adrienne and Helix are headed to Basel, Switzerland by the end of the month for the World Cup Final, the only international dressage championship in which the USA can participate this year.
Kevin Kohmann, who like Adrienne is based in Wellington and will be competing on Dünensee at the World Cup with Adrienne, stands second with $28,000 in the prize money standings, according to calculations by DRESSAGE-NEWS.com. Kevin led the standings for two weeks earlier in the winter-long circuit and has remained near the top since.
Evelyn Eger, in her first Florida season, led Germany to another Nations Cup victory on Tabledance but has dropped from her leading position to third in the rankings with $27,750.
Anna Marek, of the Ocala area who has been a star as a competitor for USA at the 2023 Pan American Games and along with Kevin at the 2024 World Cup Final, is slightly behind on $27,300 in fourth place in the prize money rankings.
Julio Mendoza Loor, the first competitor from Ecuador to compete in dressage at the Olympics which he did on Jewel’s Goldstrike in Paris, has earned $21,200 from his second placings in the 5*. Julio is based in Columbus, North Carolina and has made no secret of his desire to ride under the Stars ‘n’ Stripes.
Germany’s Felicitas Hendricks, the top earner on her Drombusch on Global’s 2024 circuit, stands in sixth place with earnings of $16,800.
Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén, with seven Olympics for Sweden on her record and a competitor in Florida in winter years before Global was created, has prize money of $13,950 so far this year.
Kasey Perry-Glass, on USA medal-winning Olympic and World Games teams, with her Big Tour mount Heartbeat W.P. has earned $10,300.
The final week of Global is the end of March.
