HERNING, Denmark, Mar. 7, 2025–Andreas Helgstrand and Jovian won the Danish Warmblood Stallion Show CDI5* Grand Prix Friday in the first international event for the Danish Olympic rider since his year-long suspension from competition.

Andreas and the 11-year-old KWPN stallion that he competed on Denmark’s bronze medal team at the 2023 European Championships received a score of 72.478% for Friday’s win. The pair had competed successfully in a national show last month after taking back the ride on Jovian from Sweden’s Patrik Kittel who competed the horse through the suspension in 2024.

Another of his top horses, Wendy de Fontaine, went to German superstar Isabell Werth who captured team gold and individual silver at the Paris Olympics on the Danish mare, now 11 years old.

Germany’s Dorothee Schneider on the 13-year-old Westfalen gelding Dayman was runner-up on 72.196% in the 5*.

João Pedro Moreira of Portugal on Drosa Fuerst Kennedy OLD, 10-year-old stallion, placed third on 71.283%.

Nanna rode Blue Hors Znickers to victory on a score of 69.804% in the CDI3* Grand Prix earlier Friday. Nanna and the 12-year-old Oldenburg stallion began Big Tour exactly a year ago and this was the pair’s fourth win in 13 starts since then.

Greta Heemsoth of Germany on was runner-up on 69.587% in her interational debut on the 11-year-old Westfalen gelding Anthrazit.

Denmark’s Anna Toosbuy Rasch also making her CDI Grand Prix debut on Everian L, 10-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, placed third on 68.283%.
