OCALA, Florida, Mar. 6, 2025–Anna Marek and her 2024 World Cup partner Fayvel won the World Equestrian Center CDI4* Grand Prix Thursday with the Olympic pair of Ecuador’s Julio Mendoza Loor Jewel’s Goldstrike runner-up.
Anna, of the local community of Dunnellon who narrowly missed out on a repeat World Cup Final performance this year, scored 70.522% for the win on the 15-year-old KWPN gelding. This was the second event for the combination this year, having competed at Wellington’s Global Dressage Festival a month ago for second place in a World Cup qualifier.
Julio competing the 14-year-old KWPN gelding for the first time since the Paris Games last July was awarded 69.587%. Based in Columbus, North Carolina, the duo took an early lead but some errors dropped them to second.
Canada’s Denielle Gallagher on Come Back de Massa, the 13-year-old Lusitano gelding on which the pair came into this competition with four wins in four starts here this season, placed third on 67.065%. Denielle is based in the Ocala area after moving from Wellington last year.
