Monica Theodorescu will remain as head trainer of the German dressage team through the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028 and Jonny Hilberath as co-trainer.
The German Equestrian Federation (FN) made the decision about Monica as head dressage team coach, a role she was first appointed to in 2012.
As a rider, Monica was on three German Olympic gold medal teams as well as the championship team at the inaugural World Equestrian Games, claimed two World Cup titles and was on five European Championship teams, taking two team and one individual golds as well as other medals.
“My motivation is our top horses and top riders,” she said. “I would like to form a team out of them again in order to build on our great successes, first at the World Championships in Aachen (in 2026) and then at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.”
Monica along with U.S. team chef d’equipe Christine Traurig will feature at the U.S. Dressage Federation 2025 FEI-Level Trainers Conference at Mary Anne McPhail’s High Meadow Farm, in Loxahatchee, Florida Jan. 20-21.
