Competition dates for Florida’s Global Dressage Festival through mid-2026 were published Thursday by the U.S. federation amidst uncertainty over the effect of a change of ownership of Wellington International show grounds of hunters and jumpers and converting the dressage facility into high-end housing.
The winter-long Global circuit of the seven international dressage events including the only top rated CDI5* and Nations Cup in the Americas launched 13 years ago were listed for both 2025 and through May, 2026. The circuit has been key to building Florida into the center of dressage in the United States with the creation of schedules at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala and at TerraNova in Myakka City near Sarasota.
The complete schedule of 2025 events confirmed the calendar already posted by dressage-news.com, including the events that will host qualifiers for the US Open final to be staged at Desert International in Thermal, California. All seven Global events and one in neighboring West Palm Beach, three at TerraNova, five plus the final in California and four in other venues on the east coast.
However, the partial 2026 calendar approved by the U.S. federation but subject to confirmation by the FEI (International Equestrian Federation) had not previously been available.
Major highlights in 2026 are the World Cup Final scheduled for Fort Worth, Texas April 8-12 and the World Championships in Aachen, Germany Aug. 10-23.
A much-debated topic has been the decision by the Wellington government to approve construction of high-end housing on the grounds that host Global on condition of creation of an alternate site for dressage, identified as on 80 acres/32Ha adjoining the existing Wellington International facility.
