WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 28, 2024—Bohemian, an Olympic and European Championship star ridden by Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour, will be back in the show ring at the Global Dressage Festival this week with new rider Endel Ots and new monicker, Zen Elite’s Bohemian.
Endel, based in Wellington, and the 14-year-old Westfalen gelding, are scheduled to compete in a national Grand Prix at 8:45:00 a.m. local (14:45 CET) Friday. An earlier start on Thursday was scratched.
Bohemian is one of several horses bought for American riders in recent months by Zen Elite, the equestrian outlet of the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida entrepeneur Heidi Humphries.
–Bohemian for Endel. The horse was competed for Denmark by Cathrine through 2022 and included placing third in the Grand Prix and fourth in the Freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics and team and individual bronze and freestyle silver at the 2021 Europeans. The horse was sold to Korea’s Dong Seon Kim who competed Bohemian at Global last winter. After returning to his European base, Bohemian was competed for three months by Patrik Kittel of Sweden.
–Helix, a 12-year-old KWPN gelding, and Lars van de Hoenderheide, 13-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding, for Adrienne Lyle who worked the horses at Ocala’s World Equestrian Center at Ocala’s World Equestrian Center two weeks ago. Lars was competed most recently by Charlotte “Lottie” Fry of Great Britain.
–Fleau de Baian, a 13-year-old KWPN stallion from Adelinde Cornelissen for 21-year-old Pan American Games gold medalist Christian Simonson.
Kasey Perry-Glass, who rode for the U.S. on the bronze medal team at the 2016 Olympics and for team silver at the 2018 World Equestrian Games, makes the international debut on Heartbeat W.P. Thursday.
Kasey and the 12-year-old KWPN gelding will compete in the CDI3* to qualify for the Grand Prix Special that will earn the pair their first points toward consideration for selection for the Paris Olympics at the end of July.
