OCALA, Florida, Feb. 16, 2024–Anna Marek and Fayvel captured the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday to build on their winning record as the pair ready for the rider’s first international championship, the World Cup Final in two months.

Anna of nearby Dunnellen and the 14-year-old KWPN gelding were awarded 70.369% for the victory, the second highest Big Tour score for the pair, exceeded only by 72.826% in sweeping the World Cup event in Wellington last week.

Jessica Howington of Ocala rode the 11-year-old American-bred mare Serenade MF in the partnership’s first international competition for a score of 68.152% and runner-up.

Jessica bought the mare two months ago from Alice Tarjan who developed Serenade from a foal to represent the U.S. on teams on both sides of the Atlantic. The previous international event was Alice competing Serenade on the American Nations Cup team at Aachen, Germany in July, three months  after performing at the World Cup Final in Omaha.

Jodie Kelly-Baxley of Destin, Florida and the 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Grayton Beach, posted a personal best 67.630% for third place, in only the third Big Tour event for the pair.
