BROMONT, Quebec, Sept. 2, 2023–Beatrice Boucher rode Summerwood’s Limei to a personal best score to win the CDI2* Intermediate 1 for the fifth victory in seeking to qualify for Canada’s Pan American Games team.

Beatrice and the 10-year-old Hanoverian mare scored 72.059% a day after capturing the Prix St. Georges in the final event before the Canadian team is selected for the Pan Ams in two months. The pair won both the St. Georges and Int. 1 in Ottawa in May and the Int. 1 Freestyle in Caledon a month later. The 23-year-old Beatrice on Summerwood’s Limei led Canada to Nations Cup bronze in Florida in 2022.

Shannon Dueck, based in Loxahatchee in south Florida, and the eight-year-old Oldenburg mare Angelika MW, scored 70.882% for runner-up, as the duo was in the St. Georges. Shannon competed at the 1999 Pan Ams, 2002 World Equestrian Games in Spain and the 2003 World Cup Final.

Canada’s Olympic rider Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu on the nine-year-old KWPN gelding was third on 70.637%. Brittany and Jaccardo won both St. Georges and Int. 1 at Rockwood in July.

Camille Carier Bergeron on Sound of Silence, 15-year-old Westfalen gelding, on the CDI3* Grand Prix Special on 68.128%.

The Pan Ams, scheduled for Santiago at the end October, are mixed Small and Big Tour competitors. Canada needs to earn one of two qualifying places for a start at the Paris Olympics next year. The United States already qualified at the world championships last summer.
