ZURICH, Aug. 19, 2023–Luxembourg’s Nicolas Wagner Ehlinger and Quater Back Junior FRH won the CDI4* Grand Prix Special Saturday to log a double victory at the Zurich Dressage Masters.
Nicolas and the 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 73.191% for the Special victory a day after taking the Grand Prix and to make it the third CDI win in their sixth year at Big Tour.
Germany’s Lisa Müller on the 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion Gut Wettlkam’s D’avie FRH on a personal best 72.213% was runner-up as in the Grand Prix.
To complete the same top three as in the Grand Prix, Switzerland’s Charlotte Lenherr on Sir Stanley W, 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding, was third on 70.574%.
Canadians filled the fourth and fifth places.
Ryan Torkkeli on Sternenwanderer was fourth on 68.659%.
Jill Irving, on Canada’s teams at the 2018 World Equestrian Games and 2019 Pan American Games, rode Genesis to fifth on 68.553% in the pair’s fifth competition since their Big Tour debut in Wellington, Florida four months ago.
