TRAVERSE CITY, Michigan, Aug. 9, 2023–United States’ Region 3 won the North American Youth Championships Young Rider team gold Wednesday and Canada won the Under-25 team.
Mary Claire Piller on Caterina, a 12-year-old Hanoverian mare, placed first individually on 71.706%, with team mates Kat Fuqua on the 15-year-old KWPN mare Dreamgirl second on 70.882% and Celsiana William on Prima Ballerina, 10-year-old Oldenburg mare, third on 69.765%.
Young Rider team results: 1. Region 3 212.353; 2. Regions combined 4/7 203.118; 3. Regions 1/2/9 197.824; 4. Region 5 195.383; 5. Ontario/Quebec 193.647; 6. Region 8 181,295.
Canada’s Brooke Mancusi on Arthur, 18-year-old KWPN gelding, placed first individually on 67.853% and team mate Claire Robinson on Glamour Boy, 12-year-old KWPN gelding, was second on 67.794% to claim the Under-25 team gold.
Under-25 team results: 1. Canada 135,647; 2. USA Star Spangled Team 130.323; 3. Stars & Stripes Team 127.883.
