ERMELO, Netherlands, Aug. 3, 2023–Valerie B, a Danish Warmblood mare, was ridden by Anne-Mette Srandby Hansen to clear victory in the world five-year-old championships first qualifier Thursday. The four-year-old division was dominated by Germany.

Valerie B (Revolution x Blue Hors Zack) was awarded 9.48 points for the victory–9.7 for trot, 9.5 for walk, 9.5 for canter, 9 for submission and 9.7 for perspective.

The horse was bred by Karin and Peer Guldbrandsen and is owned by Helgstrand Dressage A/S.

Carl Hedin of Sweden rode Skyline to B, a Swedish Warmblood stallion (Blue Hors St. Schufro x Ampere) received marks of 8.8 for trot, 8.7 for walk,9.5 for canter, 8.6 for submission and 9.2 for perspective for runner-up on 8.96 points.

Maria Rasmusson was the breeder with Eques Management Ab the owner.

Quinn G, a Danish Warmblood mare, ridden by Betina Jaeger and the Hanoverian stallion Beck’s ridden by Thomas Schulze of Germany tied for third on 8.82 points.

Quinn (Quaterhit x Fassbinder) received 8.8 for trot, 8.5 for walk, 9 for canter, 8.8 for submission and 9 for perspective.

The horse was bred by Helene Geervliet and is owned by Helgstrand Dressage.

Beck’s (Benicio x Desperados) was awarded 9 for trot, 8.5 for walk, 8.8 for canter, 8.8 for submission and 9 for perspective.

The stallion was bred by Christian Thelker and is owned by Christian.

Australia’s Simone Pearce on the Westfalen gelding No Limit (Geniaal x Florestan I) was fifth on 8.8 points.

The four-year-old qualifier was won by Opoque, ridden by Mette Sejbjerg Jensen of Germany for a score of 93.600%.
