SHERWOOD, Oregon, May 11, 2023–The newly created Ginny Rattner CDI is heading to be the biggest international dressage event on the United States West Coast since before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the opening of entries for the Devonwood Equestrian Center event June 1-4, 43 entries have been received so far–23 from the USA and 20 from Canada.

A total of 20 were for the CDI1*–11 Canadians and 9 Americans–many seeking qualifying scores for the Pan American Games in Chile. Eight are entered for the CDI3* Grand Prix, equally split so far between Canadians and Americans.

The Pan Ams, which stages a format of Big and Small Tour competitors, are a must-win for Canada to field a team at the Paris Olympics next year. The U.S. has already qualified a team for Paris while Brazil among other nations have a start there a high priority.

This event, organized by Noah Rattner, is the first CDI in Oregon history and is in the southern communities in the Portland area.

A review by DRESSAGE-NEWS.com of CDIs on the West Coast including the expanding Thermal and Temecula competitions in California from 2018 through this year did not show any with as many as 40 entries.
