WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 9, 2021–German team rider Frederic Wandres on Bluetooth OLD dominated the Global Dressage Festival World Cup Grand Prix Thursday while Ashley Holzer on Valentine was the top U.S. combination.
Alice Tarjan on Serenade MF and Sarah Tubman on First Apple, both vying for an invitation to the Omaha World Cup Final, finished below the top group and are looking to improve in the Freestyle under lights Friday night that will decide standings.
Frederic and the 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding scored 74.913% for the third straight win in three starts on this year’s Florida winter circuit. This is the third year that Frederic has competed in Florida for Hof Kasselmann of Hagen, Germany.
Morgan Barbançon of France on the 17-year-old Bolero, also seeking an invitation to Omaha, was second on 71.782%.
Ashley Holzer of Wellington on Valentine was the top placed American partnership on 71.174%.
