WEST PALM BEACH, Florida, Jan. 22, 2023–Morgan Barbançon posted a personal best score on Bolero to win the Gold Coast Opener CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday, the second victory for the French rider in her debut Florida competition.

The two-time Olympian scored 77.175% for the win on the 17-year-old KWPN gelding two days after she won the opening Grand Prix on Deodoro, one of three Big Tour horses she brought to Florida to compete on the winter-long circuit.

Morgan took over the ride on Bolero from her sister, Alexandra, at the end of 2017. Last year, she and Bolero logged five wins in 16 starts that included the previous best result for a musical performance of 76.760%.

Mikala Münter of Wellington, Florida and Salsa Hit, a 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding, were awarded 74.090% for runner-up to wrap up the second year of Big Tour for the partnership.

Canada’s Evi Strasser on the 15-year-old Oldenburg gelding Disney Tyme received 69.550% for third with three in the class.
