BUDAPEST, Oct. 2, 2022–The Netherlands’ Thamar Zweistra rode Hexagon’s Ich Weiss to victory in the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday for the first Big Tour win by the nine-year-old NRPS stallion.

Thamar and the home-bred gray were awarded 77.225% for the win, the first in 19 months at Grand Prix that included competing on the Dutch team at this year’s world championships and the World Cup Final in Leipzig, Germany.

The victory points earned by the victory are transferred to the Western European League to kick start the rider’s campaign for a start at the Final in Omaha in six months. The Western European World Cup circuit starts in two weeks.

Sweden’s Patrik Kittel returning Delaunay OLD to international competition for the first time in 1 1/2 years was runner-up on 77.080%. Patrik and Delaunay, 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding, won the Grand Prix Saturday.

Lyndal Oatley on the 13-year-old KWPN gelding, Eros, that was on Australia’s team at the world championships last month, were third on 74.640%.

Matthia Alexander Rath and Thiago GS, nine-year-old Oldenburg stallion, won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special on 68.830% for a double victory for the German partnership.
