BUDAPEST, Oct. 1–Sweden’s Patrik Kittel competing Delaunay OLD for the first time in almost 1 1/2 years won the World Cup Short Grand Prix Saturday. Matthias Alexander Rath of Germany and the nine-year-old Thiago GS captured the CDI3* Grand Prix.
Patrik and the 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding scored 72.632% for the win.
Swedish team mate Antonia Ramel on Curiosity, 13-year-old Holsteiner gelding, placed second on 72.000%
Lyndal Oatley of Australia and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding, Eros, were third on 70.497%. Lyndal, based in Germany with her husband, Patrik, and Eros competed on the Australian team at the world championships in Denmark in August.
The Freestyle to earn points toward a prospective start at the World Cup Final in Omaha is scheduled for Sunday.

Germany’s Matthias Alexander Rath and the nine-year-old Thiago GS won the CDI3* Grand Prix.
Matthias and the Oldenburg stallion sired by Totilas scored 72.152% for the victory, the second since Thiago began Big Tour five months ago.
Hungary’s Nikolett Szalai and Willy the Hit, 17-year-old Hanoverian gelding, placed second on 67.457%.
