Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour to Ride Vamos Amigos for Denmark at World Championships

Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour has chosen Vamos Amigos over her Olympic partner Bohemian to compete for Denmark at the world championships beginning next week in Herning, Denmark.

The Danish federation made the announcement Monday in declaring the team for the dressage championships Aug. 5-10.

The team is:

Carina Cassøe Krüth, 37 years old, and Heiline’s Danciera, 11-year-old Danish Warmblood mare, owned by Ingrid and Poul Thøgersen

Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour, 30, and Vamos Amigos, 10-year-old Westfalen gelding, owned by Sarah Pidgley & Cathrine

Daniel Bachmann Andersen, 32, and Marshall-Bell, 10-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, owned by Nicola Ahorner

Nanna Merrald Rasmussen, 28, and Blue Hors Zack, 18-year-old KWPN stallion, owned by Blue Hors Stud

Reserve is Andreas Helgstrand and Jovian.

Cathrine and Vamos Amigos were reserve champion to world No. 1 Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB in the World Cup Final four months ago and led the Danish team to Nations Cup gold at Aachen, Germany four weeks ago. (Jessica is expecting her second child and is not competing at Herning.)

Cathrine is currently ranked sixth in the world on Vamos Amigos behind Bohemian at No. 2.

Carina and Heiline’s Danciera stands at No. 5, Daniel and Marshall-Bell 16th and Nanna and Blue Hors Zack that have not competed since last October following their Olympics are ranked 201st.
