Günter Seidel, one of America’s most accomplished dressage riders, has a new mount, Laurin, a seven-year-old Hanoverian gelding developed by owner José Alejandro Alcaide Roda of Spain.
Laurin (Lemony’s Nicket x Fürst Heinrich) is being shipped to California where Günter is based at Cardiff, near San Diego.
“Super excited to have a new young one coming up,” Günter told dressage-news.com.
“I flew there a month ago after seeing a video. I liked his temperament and rideability.”
The 17.1-hand/173cm chestnut was bought by Louise Leatherdale, who also owns Equirelle, a 13-year-old KWPN mare that Günter competed on both sides of the Atlantic the past two years.
Laurin was competed by Jose in both six and seven-year-old young horse classes in Spain, including two victories in two starts this year.
