HAMBURG, Germany, May 28, 2022–Germany’s Kathleen Kröncke rode San Royal to a personal best score to win the Hamburg Dressage Derby Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday while Finland’s Emma Kanerva on Feldrose FRH took the Grand Prix Special in only the second Big Tour competition for the pair.
Kathleen and San Royal, 15-year-old Oldenburg gelding, scored 78.700% for the win repeating a victory from the 2018 Hamburg Derby. The duo had not competed internationally since February 2019 before Saturday’s musical performance.
Frederic Wandres on Hot Hit OLD, 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding, also posted a personal best score of 77.785% for second. Frederic and Hot Hit won the Grand Prix.
Carina Scholz on Du Ciel, a 14-year-old Baden-Württemberg gelding, scored 72.460% for third in the all-German freestyle.
Emma and Feldrose, a 10-year-old Hanoverian mare, won the Grand Prix Special on 71.936%. The pair debuted at CDI Grand Prix last month.
Germany’s Hendrick Lochtowe on Bricco Barone, a 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding in their first CDI Grand Prix competition, were second on 70.021 with Felix Kneese on San Simeon, a 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding, third on 67.702%.
