MARIAKALNOK, Hungary, May 7, 2022–Benjamin Werndl and Daily Mirror won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday, the first qualifier leading to the championship Final in Omaha next April.

Benjamin and the 18-year-old Westfalen gelding scored 79.200% for the win in the German rider’s campaign for a second World Cup Final appearance. The pair won the Grand Prix Friday.

Benjamin and Daily Mirror competed in the 2019 World Cup Final, though he has logged the most success recently on Famoso, a 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding.

Hungary’s Csaba Szokola on Enying was second on 71.795%.

Zaneta Skowronska-Kozubik of Poland on Romantic P were third on 70.345%.

Jill Hollweg-de Rider on Whitney won the Grand Prix Special on a score of 69.893% to lead a German sweep of the top three places.

Martin Pfeiffer on Riccio was second on 68.830% with Catherine Mayer and World Royal third on 67.042%.
