WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 24, 2022–Ashley Holzer rode her Valentine to a personal best score to win the Global Dressage Festival CDI3* Grand Prix for the Special Thursday, the first Big Tour victory for the American partnership.
Ashley, based in Wellington, and the 12-year-old Hanoverian mare scored 73.630%, their previous best being 71.848% posted last month.
The win comes two weeks before Ashley, a four-time Olympian for Canada, competes in the World Cup Final in Leipzig, Germany on Havanna. It will be Ashley’s first international championship since switching to ride for the United States five years ago.
Belgium’s Laurence Vanommeslaghe and Havalon placed second on 70.630% with Katie Duerrhammer of Greenwood Village, Colorado and Paxton third on 68.587%.
