SYDNEY, Mar. 15, 2022–Australia’s world championship qualifying requirements were announced Monday with all but two of the top scores from nine rider and horse combinations achieved so far by competitors outside the country.

The federation set 69% as the minimum of at least two scores at Grand Prix at DI3* or above required over the period Jan. 1, 2021 to July 4, 2022, one needed this year, to qualify for the team of four for the championships in Herning, Denmark in August.

Kristy Oatley and Du Soleil, the 18-year-old Hanoverian gelding competed at the 2016 Olympics, has fulfilled all the requirements with the highest score of 72.526% of any Aussie combination so far this year as well as three qualifying scores from 2021.

Lyndal Oatley, like her cousin based in Germany, has also completed the requirements on Elvive with the highest score of 73.718% and on Eros is one score away for this year to give her two qualifying mounts.

Simone Pearce, also based in Germany, has three horses with scores in 2021 all above 70%, Destano with the best result of 74.816%, Amandori at 73.478% and Double Joy at 71.826%. None have scores so far in 2022.

The American-based Kelly Layne on her Olympic partner Samhitas has two scores above 70% from 2021, but none so far this year.

Mary Hanna, the six-time Olympian based Down Under, has two qualifying scores on Syriana this year, the top being 72.239%.

Jayden Brown has one qualifying score on Senator Nymphenburg of 71.022% and one of 69.674% on Sky Diamond.
